“The human mind is more resilient, creative and beautiful than I ever imagined. The more I collaborate with intelligence beyond myself, the more I discover what makes my own intelligence irreplaceable.”
— Matt Parry
The Great Rewiring is a reflection on the quiet transformation happening inside all of us. It explores how the architecture of human thought is being reshaped by our growing partnership with artificial intelligence – not as a threat, but as an evolution of how we perceive, create, decide and understand. Rather than offering predictions or technical arguments, the book invites readers to notice the subtle moments when their own thinking begins to move differently, to recognise the shift from solitary thought to shared cognition, and to stay deeply human as intelligence becomes something we participate in rather than possess.
Written by futurologist and strategist Matt Parry, co-founder of The Future Collective, the book draws on three decades of work at the intersection of creativity, commerce and change. Matt’s career has been dedicated to helping leaders and organisations build more human systems for a technological age, guiding projects with partners such as Henley Business School and Oracle NetSuite, and exploring how intelligence – in people and in organisations – can be rewired for better outcomes, socially, ethically and economically. His work is grounded in both empathy and curiosity.
Your Questions,
Answered.
Who is this book for?
The Great Rewiring is for anyone who has sensed that their mind now works differently but hasn’t had the language for why. It’s for leaders, creators and thinkers who feel the shift in how ideas form, how decisions are made, and how thought itself seems to accelerate. If you’ve ever paused and wondered, “Why do I think like this now?” - this book is for you.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn how the process of human thought is changing, subtly, profoundly, and permanently. The book explores how attention, creativity, intelligence and identity are being reshaped by our partnership with AI, and how to stay conscious, grounded and deeply human as this new cognitive environment unfolds.
Is this a book about technology?
Not really. It’s a book about you. About the mind. About the quiet shift already happening inside millions of people. Technology is only the backdrop. The real story is the human story about how we understand, feel, create, empathise and make meaning in an age where intelligence is no longer something we hold alone.
Why did you write it?
Because I noticed my own mind changing. Faster ideas. New rhythms of thought. A sense that thinking had become a dialogue rather than a solitary act. I realised this shift was not personal; it was universal. I wrote the book to capture that transformation and to help others recognise it. It’s my hope that it will guide people through the emotional, intellectual and ethical dimensions of this new era.
What makes this book different?
It isn’t a prediction, a hype story or a guide to tools. It’s a human exploration that is grounded, reflective and emotionally honest.
The Great Rewiring doesn’t tell you what the future will be. It helps you understand what is already happening inside you, and how to navigate it with clarity, empathy and wisdom.
This book is an invitation.

To become aware of how your thinking is already changing, whether you realise it or not.
